Mourning and Canada Warblers

We had these two warblers, among many other birds, this morning near Cold Lake in Alberta, on our western Canadian birding tour. The Mourning Warbler (Oporornis philadelphia) is much the more special--uncommon to rare, and highly secretive, usually skulking low in bushes. Our guide said that he could not recall having had a better view of this bird in his forty years' experience. Canada warblers (Wilsonia canadensis), though not common, are generally easier to see; however, I had never been able to photograph one so well.

Other warblers from the morning included blackburnian, chestnut-sided, magnolia, Tennessee, and black-and-white. All of them are on their northern breeding grounds.
