Cold, wet, miserable...

... could describe this snail, could describe today's weather. Last week it was brighter at 4am than it is today at 9 o'clock, summer has well and truly deserted us. This picture was taken out in the open, with all the available light the day had to offer, but still I needed ISO1600 and a lot of lightening in PS.

So apologies if it's a bit noisy, I did my best with it! I don't like snails, the only thing they have going for them is that they're not slugs, but I liked the way this one had wrapped itself around these bits of dead plant. There was a baby snail beside it too, but that was just far too ugly to blip :)
