This World Cup I shall mostly be supporting...

AR..GEN...TINA. My first world cup I really watched avidly was Mexico 86.It started on my birthday and I had the sticker book and my first homemade wall chart. My grandad was a Glaswegian and sent me the entire Scotland world cup collection, yes the classic hoopy shorts one. I was 11 and allowed to stay up late to watch the Scotland games. Strachans goal and classic 'I can't get over this hoarding' celebration, the animal uruguans with the brilliant Enzo Francescoli, and of course EL DIEGO and Argentina. OK so he clearly handled against England but I mostly remember his brilliant second, his other identi-goal against Belgium, the pass for Jorge Luis Bururuchaga's winner in the final. What a player I was in love. My dad and probably everyone elses bought me the top. I've loved Argentina ever since. Suzo got me this retro replica for my birthday. In response to another posters remarks regarding the pathetic behaviour of the ABE brigade, yes it is ridiculous but also I understand. I like to think I've grown out of being vitriollically anti english, I really don't care if they win or lose to be honest. It's the over the top marketing of anything and everything that everybody in the UK get's stuffed down their throats that grates. Good luck to them but it'S still Argentina for me, I'm off to buy a mars bar so I can stuff them down my own throat.
