Door VI

So... number 300 and I kinda forgot. Today was pretty mental.

But it's a door (see previous) and it's graffiti, which are both common themes of mine.

My door theme comes from a programme I watch called Being Erica. At the end of season II Erica has come to this turning point in her life where everything is changing. She's led into this corridor where is given a choice of doors. It's a bit Alice in Wonderland whereby she has no idea what is on the other side of any of them. Every door looks different; some colourful and new, some old and withered, and so on. At first she's kinda freaked out and doesn't know what to do... but given time, she comes back and just chooses. You don't know why she chooses the one she does... and you have no idea what happens to her as she passes through because the season ends there.

When I watched I cried buckets. My life is pretty driven by metaphors - about hills, boats, islands, jigsaws, rock climbing and many more. This metaphor of choosing a door will stay with me for the rest of my life... hence my door fascination.

Today marked the first day of our last week at Uni. By Thursday it will all be over. I can't believe that I've done and learnt so much in such a short space of time. I have chosen my door... I've made it through... and now I just have to wait and see what is on the other side.
