Dalmatian Toadflax
I thought this was a pretty little wildflower - until I read up on it. Introduced from Europe as an ornamental during the 1800's. Now considered a 'noxious weed'. Toadflaxes have 3-petaled upper and 2-petaled lower "lips" that meet to resemble a toad's mouth. This and the flax-like leaves explain the name. We are surrounded by them.
