The makings of Kahlua

My mom use to make a home made Kahlua that was so good that I started making it after she passed away. I put a couple of tablespoons on top of vanilla ice cream and it is so good. Also good with half and half. If anyone wants the recipe, it is below.

KAHLUA

1 cup instant coffee crystals
3 1/2 cups sugar
Pour over 2 cups boiling water and mix
Let cool and add 1 vanilla bean, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1 pint vodka.
Put in a jar and let set for one month
