Friendship bench.

I have been visiting 'feeder' primary schools over the last week to meet and discuss children who will transfer to us in September.

Most days this week it has been a quick dash from the car into the building because of the rain, but today, at last, the sun is out again. I saw one of these benches earlier in the week at a different school, but didn't study it because of the weather. So I took my time today to give this one a closer look and as I had my handy little blipper (old camera) in my bag, I took this shot.

I think they are a nice idea and very colourful, presumably done by the children leaving the school in that year. The top displays the name of the school and the other words take their initial letters from this. It seems strange that I have seen two in one week or is this some kind of tradition that I have not come across before?
