Eton Mess anyone?

Back to Eton and environs with eyes wide as it comes home to me how elite this place is.

This is merely one of their playing fields... it is all Eton as far as the eye can see. The school's golf course lies a little way behind me. The amount of land they own, in addition to what seems to be the whole town, is phenomenal - and all this is only 15 minutes away from London on the fast train!

As the young men in tails wandered past me in the town's well-kept and traditional streets, looking like something out of the 18th century, I reminded myself that this is the college that has produced 20 Prime Ministers. Plus, of course, a sizeable proprtion of the current, 21st-century Cabinet.
