Day 11 - Grand Teton National Park

My 200th blip - unfortunately not done on the day, so looks like I'll be alone at my party with no balloons to play with :-(

I'll celebrate then with pictures from Yellowstone - some of my favourite yet from our trip.

Continuing from Cody yesterday (day 10), we ventured into Yellowstone National Park and drove around most of the loop. We saw sights beyond our wildest dreams...

First old yellow buses, cheeky squirrels, bizarre mud pools, big old geysers, stunning reflective pools, lots of bison, smaller mini geysers, beautiful elk, weird apocalyptic landscapes, more bison, shimmering emerald pools, strange moonscapes and vivid colours.

After luckily arriving at Old Faithful 5 minutes before it erupted (avoiding a 90 minute wait for the next one) we carried on south to Grand Teton National Park and the Colter Bay cabins, eventually crashing into bed in our cosy abode, exhausted but happy after Yellowstone.

On 200-blip-day we spent the day in Grand Teton National Park, a quieter place than Yellowstone but equally (if not more) stunning. After breakfast we walked (such a pleasant change!) the two mile lakeshore path which gave us tremendous views of the mountain ranges. The rest of the day was spent exploring other paths and views, finding peaceful spots to sit and enjoy the scenery, spotting more wildlife.

We ended the day at Jackson Lake Lodge to watch the sunset. A deserved way to spend my 200th blipday :-)
