So It Begins...

This evening we signed lease papers for this corner retail space in downtown Portland; on Jefferson and Park. Kim and I are now officially entrepreneurs (gulp). This is a pretty major undertaking for us - our lives will not be the same from here on out. We have been quietly researching and planning this for the last few months but now there's no point being secretive. We are locked and loaded.

Wanted to celebrate tonight but unfortunately Kim is running a half marathon tomorrow morning, which is in preparation for a full marathon in October. Tomorrow night we'll have to christen the new venture properly and then have a good lie-in on Sunday.

Holly is very excited. She wants to have a job at the new store... that, on further discussion, doesn't involve any work it seems.

And what is the store going to be? Self-serve frozen yogurt. Basically you pour your own frozen yogurt, add toppings and pay by the ounce. Very popular in the rest of the country but still relatively new here in Oregon. The yogurt we will be serving is made locally, full of live active cultures and comes in lots of very yummy flavors. (We should have 10 flavors on tap.)

Wish us luck. I'm sure this is going to be a roller coaster ride! :)
