Nature

The next part of the trip, we are off to my parents' house for a visit. In the two days we were here we found this "walking stick" (I think you call them stick insects over there), a little tiny toad, and rescued a box turtle slowly crossing the road. I love that my parents live in a semi-rural place surrounded by woods and that things like this happen. I hadn't seen a walking stick since I was very little and Mr. Apple had never seen one (having grown up in NYC) so it was fun to let him crawl around on me for a few minutes before returning him to the wild.

I couldn't decide between this and the toad, but since this is more rare, I went with it.
