Eurasian Oystercatcher

This oystercatcher (meriharakka) is in an odd environment in this picture but that's where I met it. We took our son to the Airport in Helsinki and visited Seurasaari afterwards. Birds there are very used to people and therefore easy to approach. Oystercatchers here used to be birds of rocky shores in our archipelago but today they have become closer to people and are almost like city birds.
