Tay Swimmer

There was a race today. 1 mile swim across the mouth of the Tay between Broughty Ferry and Tayport harbours. Open, cold and tidal waters. Organaised by Ye Amphibious Ancients Bathing Association. This swimmer was coming third(?) and close to the finish at Tayport.

In the background is the Pile Lighthouse sitting on sand banks just off Tayport. Unusual lighthouse, being wooden and built on wooden legs. Not used since the 1960's.
