Lighting the way

I went outside right around dusk to get a shot of the mums which are starting to bloom already, about two months early. While outside I decided to look around as there is always so much life on the mum plants. There were flies and moths and then I saw this lightning bug. He sat and posed and then waited for me when I went inside to change the batteries in my flash. They're really creepy looking up close with pincers for their mouth and they even have fingers! And just think, these guys have been landing on you all your life.
