Still life with balls

Here's the deal: Doug Smith has a drum lab/studio/teaching place here in Portland, in an industrial part of town that I really love because it's so visually rich in textures, colors, and shapes. Broken windows, spools of wire, quonset huts painted baby blue, that kind of thing. I wandered down there this afternoon in search of an image just about an hour or two late. Doug had been shooting a music video this afternoon, and the drummers, the bikers, and the film crew had just left. Doug was clearing up the site and putting all his stuff away. I got about fifty shots of a situation so visually rich I could spend the next six months playing with the pictures.
