Evening light with wires

I guess the hard slog of the past week caught up with me this morning. After a bit of a wake-up earlier on, I didn't finally surface until 12.30 pm.

Carl was anxious to do some work with plants and compost and hanging baskets and that sort of thing. I was supposed to be helping, but claimed potential back problems as an excuse to adopt a more supervisory and advisory role. A couple of sudden heavy showers didn't help things, but the job finally got done and now it's just a matter of waiting for the plants to do their thing. Fingers crossed.

Before we knew it, the clock had made its way to 4.00 pm and time for coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix. Carl busied himself with lunch preparation and fed the multitude in great style. The race itself was an exciting one, full of incident. Red Bull had said all along that they didn't expect to do well, and they were right. Mark Webber was looking good for a good while, but tyre wear left him losing performance and the McLarens ended up coming home again first and second. The race was finished by the time the weather took a turn for the better and the evening sun began to work its wonders. That's when this quick through-the-window blip made it into the camera.

One catch-up episode of Ballykissangel followed, after which I came back home, returning to work mode and the final stages of print preparation for last week's job.
