An Orcadian Blackening

This was just about the most exciting day! In Orkney it's traditional to ambush a groom (or bride) sometime before their wedding, cover them in treacle and then go on the lash!

This didnt disappoint, the 'victim' sensed there was something going on & bolted, leaving a couple of vans and cars in hot pursuit through fields and along country roads until he was finally caught! Then it got super messy with treacle and flour all over the place!

Was a lot of fun and I think the Australian tourists in their camper van that happened upon us have a great tale to take back with them!
