Canoeing in the rain

Today we had a long, very productive international consortium meeting in a small cottage in the forest, by the lake (yes, I know, it sounds very Finnish). After the meeting, we set out in canoes on the lake, and canoed around one small island! It was raining when we began but thankfully the sun appeared for the second half of the trip!

It was just lovely, except from the fact that I was much stronger than my canoeing partner, so we were rarely going in a straight line, unfortunately.

After that, we enjoyed sauna and I swam in the lake for the first time this year! It wasn't even that cold...I heard rumours that the water temperature is already 19 degrees!

It was a very inspiring day, we had no internet connection and barely any phone reception, so it meant that no one got distracted by technology and we were able to focus and really work well. That's a rarity in the modern connected world!
