she'll be at it again soon

my wife is still adjusting to life in a new town; hasn't gotten completely back to her routine. the art, i'm sure, will quickly flow again.

meanwhile...we had the hardest time putting the little one down to bed last night. she hasn't been put into a routine of being put down into bed and left alone to cry herself to sleep. we tried tonight, with terrible results - my wife thinks we've failed as parents. our daughter screamed for 15 minutes before i went in and picked her up, soothed her through the post-crying gasps for air [our hearts were just melting] for 10 minutes and laid her back down; to which, promptly, she began crying again. it must have lasted 20 more minutes before a wave a peace finally fell over our apartment. it was a fairly traumatic experience for a 7 month old; but it nearly killed us emotionally to have to do it!
