These Two

I took this (picture of a picture, is that allowed? oh well!) because some days I stand at stare at it for what seems an age, marvelling at the broad smiles, the twinkly eyes, the promise of a good night ahead.

Some days I pass by it in a rush with barely a sideways glance. So busy with daily life; rushing up and down the stairs, arms full of children, laptops, washing, mugs of tea, empty glasses.

It is my favourite picture of my mum and dad, they look so happy, so full of life.

Today is a stand and stare day.

I really, really miss them.
