Friday Night at Scott's Boat

We met Scott & Peg this evening at the boat slip. Peg had phoned this morning to let us know that James Taylor and Carole King were going to be on the Today Show. She then asked what we were doing this evening and we replied, "Nothing."

So later in the day Scott phoned to asked us to join them this evening at 6:00 at the Newport Channel to walk around Balboa Island and to have dinner on the boat. That sounded great to us.

This photo is looking across the channel toward Little Balboa Island--a very exclusive place and also a fun section on the island to walk around. The little channel that separates Little Balboa Island from Balboa Island can be seen in this photo, as well as the car bridge that connects the two. The boat that Scott sails is docked near the end of this row of boats. He leases the boat with a group of other sailors and they all take turns. This evening the boat was available.

This photo also captures Scott and Mr. Fun walking up the dock. The four of us went for a walk around the big island and then bought dinner at a little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant and brought it back to the boat.

We had a terrific evening with two of our best buddies. Our schedules have all gone in extremely different directions, so we don't get together with them as often as we used to, but it sure is fun when we get to. Last month the four of us went to Hollywood Bowl together to see the Carole King/James Taylor Concert.

The grandfather clock just struck 12. If I'm not careful, I'll turn into a pumpkin, so I better get this done. I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.
