Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be..A New Romantic

The outfit in my blip is for my cousin's hen night tonight. The theme is the 1980's.

It should have been really easy for me to choose a look, as this the era of my late teens and early twenties... but it wasn't! Kept remembering the evenings spent in Cottonopolis's night clubs, feeling sophisticated drinking the odd cocktail (always a Blue Lagoon) or Pernod and lemonade (how could I?). It's been such a struggle, and this outfit is my last minute save.

I couldn't spoil those memories by wearing something I wore in the 80s, so naff now (my purple satin jumpsuit with the silver belt and pearl buttons, springs to mind), but the height of fashion at that time. So I'm going to be a New Romantic with a touch of the Madonnas (lacy gloves), black skinny jeans and pointy-toed boots. I'll be digging out some Damson lipstick, and maybe applying some black eyeliner to my face as well as my eyes, and backcombing and hairspraying til I've got a bird's nest on my head.
