Steamin'

Took a trip out to the Steam Rally at Castle Fraser this afternoon. This is a shot of a vintage steam powered carousel.

Some fantastic machinery on show and scary to think of the effort that must go in to keeping them in great condition.

There is a very distinctive smell at these shows too - it's a mix of smoke, grease and superheated water.

The Dog & Duck show was very entertaining as always. I have to declare an interest here, and state that I went to school with Mark Wylie the man behind "The Drakes Of Hazard" a very very long time ago. It is always a pleasure to see him as he is a true gent. He even managed to squeeze in a mention for Hamish The Wonder Pup into his show patter.
