Hibiscus I

My beautiful new hibiscus plant has its first bloom - something to do with the near-tropical temperatures that have been felt in the kitchen lately, I'm sure. The flowers supposedly only last 24 hours, yet another reminder of time's diabolically swift passage. I hope it hangs on until tomorrow at least.
