Success!
We arrived at the hotel a little after 4, checked in and went and sat on the dock overlooking the lake. It's gorgeous. Everything is. Well, except the 'skeeters who have already fed a few generations on me.
As we were sitting on the dock (me with my feet in the water) I noticed a dragonfly*, THIS dragonfly*, caught in a spiderweb. Now I know spiders have just as much right to eat as other animals, but if I can have a say in what they should have on their menu, I won't hesitate.
I carefully pulled the spiderweb apart, and even more carefully tried to remove the spiderweb from the dragonfly* wings (you can still see some hanging, I think).
It was a bit shaken and needed some time to recover. I took photos. And felt a bit guilty about that.
It's a bit difficult to see how it looks on a regular monitor cos we only have the tiny netbook, but hey, it's a DRAGONFLY*! It counts :)
We had a lovely dinner (and free dessert!), overlooking the lake, and then champagne on our balcony, overlooking the lake. What a wonderful birthday-eve I'm having :)
*I've since learned it's actually a Damselfly. Silly me. Silly English language.
