Pheasant's Back Mushroom
News from Roxton is that there is a pair of Little Egret at the lake, I didn't stay too long because I think they're nesting and I didn't want to disturb them. The dead tree on the perimeter which was the subject of my first Blip now has this really impressive bracket fungus (Polyporus squamosus) on it. The pheasant's back analogy derives from the pattern of colors on the bracket matching that of a pheasant's back.
