Loch Flies

I wondered out along the old rail route for a cycle and was really enjoying it, until I turned down towards the loch and hit a bank of Mayflies. There were millions of them.

I, being an old hand at this, had my wrap around sunglasses and my scarf wrapped tightly around my face. Luckily, the rest of the people population had given up and gone home and I had the path almost completely to myself. The martins were swooping and the swallows were swallowing, but they never made a hole in that swath of flying animal matter.

I did manage to stop and blip at this large field of barley, where they were obviously having a party.

I also managed to raise a sweat, but today that wasn't too difficult, as it has been one of the hottest days this year.

Wimbledon is with us and I will be mostly reclining and enjoying.
Pimms and strawberries.
Mmmmm..............well after a full days work.
