Breakey Blips

In search of water

This is our winter creek, the Nyaania Creek, and it flows at the bottom of our road along the side of a disused railway line - now cycle path.

As it is officially winter, this should be a roaring torrent of water heading down the hill, not a pathetic dribble that Claire was able to climb over. This winter is worryingly dry.

Last July, 10 kids and 3 adults went on an expedition for about 200m up the middle of the creek to this point. It took us a couple of hours and the (shortlegged) dog had to be saved from a few dodgy situations.

This year, we will have to find some other risky activity to amuse the kids during their winter holiday. Possibly spider juggling, or scorpion kissing? eek! Maybe not, their stings really hurt!
