Pinecones

I only had time for a quick wander near the office at lunchtime. These pinecones are so unusual-looking. I don't know what this tree/shrub is called; can anyone help?

This beautiful spell of warm, sunny weather has been wonderful. We've actually managed to eat our tea in the back garden the past couple of days. It feels so civilised! And it's certainly a novelty for us. I'm hoping Scotland enjoys many more of these balmy summer evenings throughout July and August.

On a more sober note, the budget was announced today. Very tough times ahead.
