Rooftop

This is a favourite staging post for the birds on our terrace. They have a great view over the village and can also keep an eye on their nests on neighbouring rooftops. We all have to cover our chimney pots to stop fledglings falling down them! One summer when the girls were small we had two starling youngsters repeatedly fall down our chimney to be rescued by our daughters who nicknamed them kamikaze and snuggles. They would put them back in a box on their windowsill then watch them flutter out, dice with death and the local cats before heading back up to the roof and back down the chimney.

Tony found an internet cafe in Iceland today so I had my first news since he left. He is enjoying the sights but a bit waterfalled out!
