Travelling the back roads.....

While travelling to a school today, I decided to take a "back road" instead of the main road and came across this......

However, looks can be deceiving. It isn't a pond or small lake but an area flooded many years ago after coal was mined in this area. Up until this past spring, coal was mined in this area for several hundred years.
