There's no place like home ...

This is Maisie, she's a foster cat. She's been here for 3 weeks now having been in her previous foster home for 9 weeks, a few weeks here and there before that. Its now clear that her owner wont be able to take her back. I was told that she doesn't like other cats and that she'd have to be kept separately. She's an indoor cat and isn't to go out.

However, I'm not great at keeping doors shut so she was left to roam in the house to start with. After the odd hiss at Archie and Doris, she now walks past them without blinking and is even a little curious about them. She also didn't appear interested in going outside and I could tell by her demeanour that she's not a bolter so I left the back door open and she started to wander out, getting closer to the lawn. She started to walk on the grass like a pensioner on ice, not seeming sure what it was. She sniffs at plants for minutes at a time, curious about everything she sees.

We have a couple of options, there's a lady who might be interested in her, there's the possibility of a place at a cat rescue but at her age (14?) she's not going to be many people's first choice or ..... she could maybe stay here????

There's a great organisation here in Scotland - Pet Fostering Service Scotland - that does a lot of good work for people who are in a pickle. I've had dogs for people who are in hospital, every 12 weeks I get a cat for 10 days when his owner goes into respite care, and now Maisie.
