Just how helpless do you feel the first time your child gets ill?

Woken up at 5 this morning by a crying, coughing, whooping BabyB. By nine the new parent worst fears had subsided enough to realise that she just had a cold, so we decided a duvet day was in order, dressed her in her fleecy jammies and the poor poppet has snuffled and coughed her way through the day.

Doesn't seem to have affected her mood much though...
