Murder Most Fowl

"Ghost: Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder.
Hamlet: Murder!
Ghost: Murder most foul, as in the best it is,
But this most foul, strange, and unnatural.
Hamlet: Haste me to know ?t, that I, with wings as swift
As meditation or the thoughts of love,
May sweep to my revenge."

Unlike Shakespeare's Murder Most Foul, this image is of a Murder Most Fowl and it is a natural tale in the Great Outdoors.

Found this image lying in the gutter of the street this morning. Later in my backyard there was a Gambel's Quail wailing away for his lost love. He appeared to have been stood up, or maybe his love was dispatched by an owl or another predator. I was so saddened by this tale that I omitted a post-mortem and positive identification on the feathers.

It's a jungle out there!
