Sure Start picnic in the park

Hexham was host to a massive picnic today, courtesy of Sure Start. All the baby and toddler groups from across the area had their own picnic areas, including our Allendale one. We caught up with lots of people both from our local group and also some who I hadn't seen for ages from other baby and toddler groups over the past three years (NCT, Breastbuddies). It was a brilliant day, well organised and tons to do for the little ones. Grace had a ball - lots of bouncy castles, crafts, a mini beach with sandpits and paddling pools, and - best of all in her opinion - FREE JELLY. Ophelia enjoyed it too, but is a bit young to do much yet. She did play with some of the toys that were there for babies and ate a massive lunch though! Really lovely time. Afterwards, Ophelia revelled in her first time in the Big Girl's Trolley in Tesco.
