Concerned Mother
A fabulous day today. Lots of newly emerged Ringlets for me to photograph and they did not disappoint, I got some very good shots. I intended to Blip one (my main object of the day) but as I was waiting for one to settle I heard a rustling in the grass so I stood stock-still and what emerged not two yards from me was this female Pheasant with her brood. I couldn't see the young because they were in long grass but she constantly called them and they, in return, informed her of their whereabouts. A truly magic moment, she was more concerned with the safety of her young than with her own safety and allowed me to take a few shots. I hope the Blip conveys her concern!
