departure day
well it was the last day of granny's visit today and another fun one. went off out for lunch but had to have it over two cafes. first one was where todays blip comes from. it was one of those ceramics cafes that lets you paint your own ceramic cup/plate/jewelerry box, caterpillar and so on, then fires it and you can go back and collect the finished piece. normally i would join right in the childlike fun but i wasn't feeling particularly creative today. prob due to that nagging thought hiding in the dark corners of my mind that my mum was leaving today. now i know that sounds a bit soft for a (supposed) man of 32 but i love my mum and i miss my family, esp my little bro. sorry folks seem to be having a bit of a moment here, always get like this when one of them goes back home.
anyway lexie selected a butterfly. not sure if she was painting her mums hands or what but we get the finished result next weekend. seems a bit of a long time to make a child wait but as she has the attention span of a rabid mongoose i'm sure it will all be ok..................
...........................well mum has been safely deposited at the station and as always she has a mini drama almost befroe the train left london. she somehow managed to lock herself in the toilet on the train. not sure how long she was in there but eventually a kindly guard opened the door after hearing her, no doubt, delightful cries and said "yeah, doors sometimes get stuck." a very deep individual i feel. lets just hope the train makes upsome time as if it is late then she will have to get the bus they will lay on from newcastle. dull one and i don't envy her.
i shall wrap it up as i am doing this in the garden and lexie is demanding that daddy comes inside.
so mum, as always it has been great having you here, lexie misses you like mad already. think we may have to wake her next time you leave no matter how tired she is so you can say bye. anyway hope you get home without too much hassle, but hey, lets be real here........it's you we're talking about.
love you and miss you loads
