Water Pump
This water pump has always stood here - at least since we have been here. There used to be a deep tank underground where the storm drains led to. When we bought the property it was uninhabitable and one of the first jobs was to sort the drains out. The builders we had we later found out were of the cowboy variety. Neither of us were here one day early on and when we got back we found that the discovered tank had been busted out and drained - because one of them had fallen into it. Of course we were pleased that no one had drowned however we were pretty steamed that they had decided without any consultation with us to demolish the tank - which only needed a new lid! The pump still worked too! Now it is redundant. We have to stop the bluetits from nesting in it because their babies can't get out and die. It still irritates me that we didn't replace the tank - it was deemed too expensive on top of the already mounting costs of the total renovation we ended up doing here.
