Day 20 - Las Vegas to Home ....

Left Las Vegas at 15.05 on Sunday afternoon, flying on the smallest plane in history to LAX where we had a quick snack before the 9 1/2 hrs flight to Heathrow. We thankfully had two seats to ourselves unlike friends Dan and Pam who were stuck in the middle of a row of 5 - painful. Flying is just not glamourous anymore though - simply a means to an end. At least we slept a bit and before we knew it the London landmarks were in view as we circled for 30 mins (apologies to the environment - promise not to fly again this year). London looked like a toy town from above.

Walked through the door of our house and it soon felt like we had never been away. Still, great holiday had. We really saw the real USA - good and bad. Felt like we saw discovered places relatively untouched certainly by British tourists.

- Stayed in some great accommodation (Hotel 1000 in Seattle, Gibson Mansion in Missoula)

- Had great food (too many meals to mention, but my lamb in Sensi in the Bellagio in Las Vegas lingers in the memory)

- Met great people (Tom and Nancy at the B&B in Missoula, the people of Cody, various jolly strangers in the lift at the Flamingo!)

- Saw some amazing things (the Seattle skyline, Montana's big skies, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, a gig abroad at last, The Beatles 'Love' in Vegas) - just too many highlights.

Holiday of a lifetime. Back to blipping my dinner probably tomorrow... :-)
