Heron.

We took a drive out this afternoon, in search of suitable things to blip!

After visiting a stone circle we decided to go to a nice bridge that has a lovely view of the River Eden. Luckily I already had the big lens on the camera as this heron took off as I crossed the bridge. I spent a few minutes taking constant shots as it swooped low over the river and then flew up towards the trees and finally over my head to somewhere on the other side and out of sight.

We often see these big birds near the pond in the fleld and standing in the river waiting for a tasty fish to get close enough for it to grab and eat. This is the first time either of us has managed to catch one in flight on camera though.
