Midsummer Nights Heat
Half ten, still warm, light still fading in the west. Gotta love summer nights.
Wrath makes him deaf ~ Shakespeare
Today we had perhaps the angriest patient I've ever seen. She was weirdly cheerful in her anger though. She came in smiled and anounced quite pleasantly (though with a trace of steely cold rage underneath) that she wished to speak to the 'head receptionist' and when asked if we could let her know what it was regarding cheerfully claimed she was 'about to murder somebody'.
Having anounced to the whole waiting room her displeasure she proceeded to batter our team leader flat with her fury over a matter that was neither the team leaders fault nor her responsibility (nor really anyones at the surgery) and that she definitely could not do anything about.
It made me think of Shakespeare, summer heat and anger always come together - like in Romeo and Juliet. We do seem to have had more unreasonably angry people than usual recently. And as said by shakespeare, wrath makes them deaf. She wasn't having anything our poor team leader was saying, she was right and no one else could possibly have anything of any use to say.
The moral of the story is appreciate what your doctors surgery do for you (unless they really are a rubbish one). And indeed the NHS in general i think. I always feel like just saying 'well at least you even get healthcare, for free. You could be living in so many places and paying for worse than you're getting here.'
But anyway! Long rant sorry! Apart from that i had quite a nice day surprisingly, despite working till 8pm. Didn't drag too much. And my new speakers came this morning which was exciting, and quick and they sound pretty good so I'm happy!
