Wood Duck with Snowy Egret
I find Wood Duck very difficult to capture in the wild; they are very shy, and this pair are living in an area where they are wise to be cautious. I spotted one of them on some rocks, in a place where I would be very exposed if I got out of the car. I drove, rather carefully to the edge of the bank above where they were sitting; the sun was behind and to the left of me and I got a few shots out of the car window, before the clicking of the shutter alerted them and they were gone. I was concentrating on the ducks, which aren't too bad, but I am confused about why the grass has come out this odd colour and the egret is blown; help blippers, what am I doing wrong?
