Finally!! (and it wasn't so bad after all!)
Today we took Jack to McDonalds for lunch and some playtime! They have a really huge playscape inside, and Jack enjoys playing on it!
On one side is a very big tree that has stairs inside of the trunk to get to the top of the 'treehouse'. At the top, you are about 15 feet above the ground, and there are tubes and different play areas. At the other end is a huge, red tube slide that twists and turns as you go down it. Jack has never gone down this slide (it's too dark, too fast, too twisty) so he just walks back down the stairs in the tree trunk to get down.
Today, there was a couple of children playing on the playscape, and a particular little girl (maybe about 8 years old?) kept asking Jack if he wanted to go down the tube slide like she was. He said he didn't, but watched her over and over, having the time of her life, whooshing down the slide.
A few minutes later, the girls Mom called her over to eat lunch and it left Jack alone on the playscape. I asked if he wanted to try the slide, and he walked over to it and looked down the tube. You could tell he wanted to, but was nervous. He said he would try, then sat down at the top of the slide.
I waited down at the bottom with my camera ready to capture the shot....
...and waited....
...and waited.
All of a sudden, Jack yelled "Here I come Mom!!" and within about two seconds he was flying down to the bottom!! I snapped this picture as he 'shot out'.
Could that be a smile on his face??
Well, Jack is scared no more. He went down that slide about 20 more times before we had to drag him out of there to go home!!
Way to go Jack!!
