happy canada day!

Despite not doing anything extremely Canadian today (i.e. race beavers, build an igloo, or compete in a maple syrup guzzling contest), I did enjoy the day.

This is a photo of one of my favourite pieces of jewlery; it's a vintage ring that was passed down from my grandmother to my aunt to myself.. it has a garnet stone in the centre (my birthstone) along with several diamonds on either side of the garnet. It's one of those pieces that have changed what I look for in rings, and in fact, is one of the only rings that I wear out.

I do need to have it fixed, but it's one of my favourite pieces and I hope that I'll be able to pass it down someday too :)
