The Staircase

We took Aunty out for the day today, but first of all called at the big house in the grounds of the convalescent home where she's staying. This was built in 1895 by a wealthy industrialist from Cheshire and was sold in 1919 to Lord Colwyn as a stately home. It was purchased by Medicash after the second world war for all people who needed to convalesce. Mostly it is used today by people from Merseyside. They can stay in this house or a more modern building, where Aunty is, in the 13 acres of grounds,
This impressive oak staircase is a feature of the house.
