At least the corpses stay still for you. This one can't really be blamed on the cat; I think this young greater spotted woodpecker probably flew into a closed window and bounced off onto the ground a few days ago. What I never realised about these birds is that they obviously paint their heads that colour. This one's going to spend a little while on a dry roof, in the hope of producing a decent skeleton, or at least a skull. What do you mean, morbid?
