Cleared for take off...

We get loads of Siskins at our feeders. They are beautiful birds, small but full of colour and really quite bold. Often if I go outside and disturb the garden birds there's a flurry of wings and squawks that eventually subsides to reveal a Siskin or two swinging on the feeders as if nothing has happened.

This shot was much more by good luck than design, but I think it shows their fabulous wings off nicely.
