Two Ticks
We took David to Rye Meads with the promise that we'd see the kingfisher that we had spent two hours not seeing last Monday. On arrival we were told there was a Black-necked grebe on one of the lakes, a bird we had never seen before, and as you can see from the picture we ticked both of them.
Not the greatest pictures in the world, the grebe being taken handheld with the TZ7 through our telescope, but good mementos.
Got back in time to watch Andy lose to Rafa, he played well, he dominated the second set, he was a break up in the third set, but Rafa won the crunch points - one day Andy it'll be your day. The other results of the day all went the "wrong way" too, Brazil lost to Netherlands, Ghana lost to Uruguay and most importantly Alan & I lost to Keith & Kevin in the ABC League - not a good day for the sports results, but an excellent day for bird watching.
