Who needs a naughty step when you've got stocks!

It's OK, this isn't really an extreme form of parental punishment!!

We went along to Taplow church fete this afternoon as A was playing trumpet with Burnham Concert Band, and one of the sideshows was "Splat the Vicar" although we didn't see the vicar anywhere near the stocks! K wanted to have a go throwing wet sponges at an older lad who was already in the stocks, and then asked if he could have a go in the stocks too! K loved it, three sponges were thrown at him and they were all a direct hit but K never stopped grinning! It was such a warm sunny day that he was all dry within a very short space of time!

It brought back memories for me when, as a teenager, I volunteered to go into the stocks at our church fete, again it was a hot sunny day and having wet sponges thrown was actually rather refreshing!
