Charyn Canyon

The Grand Canyon of central Asia.

I think it may have been hyped up like! It was pretty impressive, we made the nice hike down into the canyon, where there was a picnic site and...well...not much else. The hike out was not so nice! We read plenty of warnings about the heat in the canyon, and while it wasn't unbearable, it made for a sweaty Simon! It didn't help that the wind was at our backs the whole way out, and we had to keep turning. Then there was the additional kick up the balls that was the steep escape from the canyon...

Anyway, it was worth it for the exercise, it certainly made me feel better about myself!
